Google Earth: how long does it take until they update the imagery?

Do you know when the next version of Google Earth will be released? I believe that's when they update the imagery.

What method can be used, to obtain recent images of Earth... like the ones in google earth?

Google Earth: how long does it take until they update the imagery?
Google Earth updates from one to three years, as they say here:

However, some areas are updated more frequently that that, and news can be found here:

Reply:i think u need to buy google earth plus, its like 50 bucks, and they update it every week
Reply:Depends, I think maybe every year, I've noticed alot of Google Satelite pics are old based on my house, i viewed it a while back and my backyard is way different from what it is now, based on my backyard, I'd say they maybe replace the pics every year. Covering the whole earth isn't a easy task.
Reply:i think maybe 1 year or more but if you Pay 50 dollars for plus version its only will give you some more feature GPS more clearly images 3D making etc not weekly satellite images updating so i think Free is good
