Why is Google considered so much better than Yahoo?

I often use Yahoo for internet searches etc. But I recently heard that about 75% of all internet searches are conducted through Google. Why is google so much more popular than Yahoo? What makes Google so much better? To me, they seem like they serve the same basic function, except Yahoo seems to have more content (but obviously I must be wrong). Thanks

Why is Google considered so much better than Yahoo?
I used both search Engine.

Google has many feature like Blog Search, Google Document, Google Calender, Google Notebook.

If you have google account, you could create fantasy map, have satellite view, and street view at selected USA cities, well as access to YouTube or Blogger.

For example, if you search for "taxi", list of taxi will be show up.

After the "catch", there's word that says, "Note."

If you click on it, the one of taxi subject you choose would save into your Google Notebook.

Yahoo is only good for search engine and Answers.
Reply:Google and Yahoo! Search are equally known but Google is like an automatic reaction - when you want to search for something, you always visit Google. You trust Google to give good results, and that's what Google provides. I personally don't use Yahoo! Search but it is equally fine, but Google is in the dictionary, which proves it is so well known.
Reply:I use both and, also think it is a personal preference. However, I also do believe that google is considered to be better then Yahoo because more people use it than the number of people that use Yahoo.
Reply:I use google because I think it tends to come up with better and more search results to what i was looking for.
Reply:I think it comes down to personal preference. Both use different search algorhythms; maybe Google's is more effective. I personally don't care which I use for searching, but I do like the clean look of google, as well as their easy to use maps, photoalbums (picasa), and websearches for products to buy. Just seems more streamlined and "cleaner".
