Question about google earth and how to use it?

i downloaded google earth and i get how to use it but how do i get the LIVE version. i found my neighborhood on it but a new neighborhood close to us didn't even exist on google earth...that's how dated it is. i saw on the news today a live shot of the wild fire going on in California so i thought i'd get on google earth myself and see them but it's not live like the news had. how do i do that?

Question about google earth and how to use it?
No, Google Earth images are not live, most are about one to three years old, though some are older. They update the imagery fairly frequently, but we don't know in advance what they are going to update. It would be impossible to update every image of earth that quickly.

The imagery is the same in all versions of Google Earth.

There's more information and links in this thread:

Reply:Dependingon your location would depend on how upto date it is..You cvan normally tell by looking for new buildings that have sprung up or old buildings that are no longer there.

Because of the privacy laws I doub't Google will let you have a live streaming version other wise everyone would be following everyone around !! here is a short (30 sec) video of Google earth.

Reply:i think you need to pay for the good kind
Reply:i dont think you can honestly
Reply:well i odnt even use google site cause takes forever to get what youre looking for. so what i do is just use my Yahoo page and use the website box and write down anything about earth or something else to get the right answers . it does work that way instead sigin in something else that will cost you or isnt free to use.
Reply:we have google earth and as far as I can tell it is all aerial survey photography- it is not live and as far as I can tell there is no live version. It is continually being updated so eventually you will see the neighborhood near you- but it may be a couple of years- whenever there is a US geographic survey. The pictures from our neighborhood are from around 1995.

Except for really high profile areas I think it would be really hard to impossible to have a live mapping program for every area of the earth.
Reply:beside it you can use " world wind "

i think it's better
Reply:Live google earth costs money. the free version doesnt cost anything, its like a trial version.
Reply:There is no live google earth cause you can't move satellite
