Virus from google video?

Can you get a virus on your PC from watching a viedeo from Google video?

Can a virus destroy your harddrive and make it completely inopperable?

1. My girlfriend watched a video on Google video and taht night her harddrive happened to die.

2. my girlfriend told someone else to watch this video on Google and their harddrive died as well.. this happened within days of each other..

Bizarre coincidence?

Virus from google video?
Coincidence, a virus could destroy a hard drive if it ran the heads on your hard drive as hard as it could for a really extended period of time (I'm talking weeks even months) straight. I don't see that happening without someone notice the hard drive behavior.

You really can't get a virus from watching a video on Google.

Just curious, what's the url to the video :)

Reply:No ..

Google videos are filtered and it's less likely something like this would happen. In order for you to get a virus, you need to download and excute a program to your comptuer. Playing google videos does not excute a virus program.
Reply:Doubt it... if so, i'd like to see the video
