I have Google Earth (Free version) and it seems to be really slowing down etc? I have a cable 10MB p/sec download speed (very fast!) and was wondering if anybody has experienced upgrading to the Google Earth Plus ($20.00 per year version)?
Free Google Earth vs Google Earth Plus?
those 10 meg and 100 meg, is the link between your computer and your modem, the real conection speed is at most 5 meg cant be faster because then you would have to have a t1 t3 or t4 connection which i doubt!
Reply:I do not know about that but I noticed your connection on cable 10mbps that means you are using USB cable to connect the modem to the computer, if you use Ethernet cable you get 100mbps .
Reply:I haven't upgraded, but the only difference is a clearer map and better printing of the maps.....other than that, I don't think the speed matters because mine goes pretty fast.
You could try uninstalling it then reinstalling it to make it go faster.
Reply:10 meg vs. 100 meg cables don't matter, because your internet service isn't that fast.
Upgrading to Google Earth Plus will make NO difference in speed. Also, contrary to "kicman17", it won't make the maps clearer. He is correct that they will print a little better, but you won't get any additional resolution on the screen.
You'll get some other fun things (like GPS support), but the basic application won't be any faster or clearer.
